I think each of you should learn to code, because I believe that computer programming is a useful life skill.
This is a course in learning to write code in VBA, SQL, but mostly in Excel. Some would argue that coding in Excel is not really coding, and that has some truth. But, the principles of writing good code and writing good spreadsheets (and writing generally) are largely same principles. However similar these principles may be, employers tend to value these skills pretty differently. Here’s an article from ValleyWag on salaries for interns who can write code. Note: ValleyWag is a kind of gossip column for Silicon Valley, so read it with a skeptical eye, but I have no reason to doubt the truthfulness of their numbers.
